Work Based Qualifications

Work Based Qualifications are work-related, competence-based qualifications that focus on the job in hand. They are not a training programme but an assessment of a person's skills, knowledge and ability. They put learning into practice and show what an employee can do as well as what they know and they can improve your business’s productivity and competitiveness by ensuring your staff have the right skills to do the best job.

Apprenticeships at Croydon College

Apprentices learn through a combination of hands-on training and off-site education and assessment, leading to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships can help to keep your business competitive by developing the kind of people your business needs for the future, helping you to avoid skills shortages. For those aged 16-18 full funding is available. For apprentices who are 19 and above, funding is available subject to eligibility.

Croydon College is one of the largest Apprenticeship providers in London and therefore have the expertise to help you set up an Apprenticeship scheme within your workplace.

Short scheduled courses

We offer an extensive selection of courses designed specifically for employers including subjects as diverse as Food Hygiene and Health and Safety through to Managing Effective Appraisals and Assertiveness Skills. These courses are usually held at the College located in Croydon and typically last one or two days.

Bespoke courses

As the name implies, our bespoke training programmes are individually tailored to the specific needs of the client. They can be delivered on or off site and at a time that suits you.
