Croydon College Annual Hairdressing Awards

Hair and Beauty students from Croydon College were awarded their qualifications at an awards event last month. The eighth annual awards ceremony was attended by award winners, their guests and course leaders to celebrate the achievements of the NVQ Level 1-3 Hair and Beauty students.

Student of the Year Awards were also presented to students who showcased outstanding achievement throughout their NVQ course. Van Thi Pham was overwhelmed to receive her award. She commented, “I was surprised to win an additional award because there are so many talented people on my course, but I am also very pleased to see that my hard work has been recognised by my tutors and peers. I am very proud of myself.” She continued, “Now that I have my qualification I would like to gain even more experience and eventually open my own beauty salon.

Margaret Kairu, Hair and Beauty Team Leader was very delighted with the students achievements and commented, “I am very proud of all the students, they have worked extremely hard to gain their qualifications. I hope students go on to further their learning and become outstanding, industry-professional make-up artists.

Davinia Lacey also won an additional Student of the Year award; she said, “My tutors were exceptionally supportive. When I completed my Level 2 course, they contacted me directly and suggested that I progress on to the Level 3 course. Once completed, I plan to do freelance hairdressing in catwalk fashion shows and cruise ships.”
