Last week Croydon College Hairdressing apprentices took part in a photo shoot at the College’s Hair and Beauty Salon Aura as part of their course assessment. The NVQ Level 2 and 3 apprentices who are all employed in top salons throughout Croydon and the South East showcased their creative skills by styling hair for the ‘Fantasy Brides’ themed photo shoot.

The photo shoot displayed a range of designs from Gothic to Ice Brides.

Pam Leverington, Internal Verifier, Work Based Learning, Croydon College commented: “The students have done very well this term; some of the work produced has been very creative.”

The Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications are very well respected within the industry and help individuals to secure jobs within the industry as senior stylists or artistic directors.

Students were delighted with the photo shoot with one student expressing their delight in undertaking the practical assessment and commented: “It’s a great chance for innovation, and it provides a showcase for us to be creative.”

Aura is the College’s own hair and beauty salon. Run as a commercial salon, it is open to students, staff and the public. For more details please call 020 8760 5867
