Pre-Entry & Entry Level

Entry Requirements: None

Description: Mainly for students with learning difficulties. These programmes are designed to prepare students for potential employment.

Progression: Progress on to a Level 1 programme.

Level 1 Foundation

Entry Requirements: None

Description: A course for adults wishing to develop their skills in communications, numeracy and IT.

Progression: Progress on to a Level 2 Intermediate foundation programme.

Level 2 Intermediate

Entry Requirements: None

Description: Qualifications at this level include GCSEs*, BTEC First Diploma, City & Guilds and the NVQ 2 (Apprenticeship).

Progression: Progress on to a Level 3 Advanced qualification and improved career prospects.

Level 3 Advanced

Entry Requirements: For most courses, previous experience will be considered and an initial assessment will help start you at the right level to succeed.

Description: Qualifications at this level include GCSEs*, BTEC First Diploma, City & Guilds and the NVQ 3 (Apprenticeship).

Progression: Progress on to a Foundation Degree or a Bachelor's (Hons) Degree and improved career prospects.

Level 4 Higher

Entry Requirements: Qualifications at Level 3 such as an Access to Higher Education Diploma, A-levels or BTEC National Diploma.

Description: Foundation Degrees, NVQ 4 or a Certificate in Higher Education.

Progression: Progress on to a BA (Hons) top-up year to convert your Foundation Degree into an Honours Degree.

Level 5 Higher

Entry Requirements: Level 3 qualification, Foundation Degree.

Description: Bachelor's Degrees (BA Hons) top-up year.

Progression: Master's or other Postgraduate qualification.

 *English and Maths at Grade C or above at GCSE are requirements for many jobs and courses.
