Bitesize Courses are perfect for adults who would like to develop practical skills or gain an insight into a chosen industry.

Short Courses will develop a more in-depth knowledge and wider range of skills of the subject area.

  • Assessment

    All students will complete a work booklet as they progress through the course. The work booklet is a log of activities supported by regular feedback from the Tutor and will be the evidence for the qualification. 

  • Course Fees

    Creative Courses 

    Bitesize Courses - Free for eligible home students 19 and over upon completion of the course work booklet. If a student does not complete the booklet the course fee will be £250.

    Full Cost Courses - The cost of these courses is £100. Full payment is needed prior to enrolment. Once you have applied the Admissions Team will confirm methods of payments.

    Digital Courses

    Free for eligible home students 19 and over upon completion of the course work booklet. If a student does not complete the booklet the course fee will be £250.

  • I.T For Beginners

    This course will develop IT skills for anyone wanting to be more confident in today's digital age. The course will cover finding specific information safely through the internet, navigating web pages and also how to compose and send emails. It is a great first step for anyone wanting to use IT effectively, with progression routes onto a Level 1 IT course.

    This course is suitable for anyone wanting to develop their understanding of social media and how to use it safely. The skills developed will enable you to safely create and maintain a social networking profile, use and store digital media content and understand the different forms of Social Media platforms available.      This short course is ideal for anyone wanting to study English but are not sure;

    • What ‘level’ their English skills are currently at
    • Which course they should apply for

    On this course students will get to know what qualifications are out there and what the different levels of study involve. The course includes a range of activities designed to diagnose current levels and identify skills gaps so we can plan the next logical step for each student and provide support with applying for the most appropriate English course.

    Understand how to create a great CV that will help you stand out from the crowd.

    This course will look at how to create a modern CV by helping to identify individual skills and experiences and how to translate these into a personalised, unique document.

    Students will design a CV using Microsoft Word and develop the knowledge about how the document can adapted and updated for different purposes and audiences.

  • Explore GCSE English: Is it Right for You?

    This taster course is suitable for anyone who is interested in taking a GCSE in English Language.  It is aimed at people who have reasonably secure reading and writing skills in English, but who wish to explore whether GCSE is the most appropriate next step.  The course will give an overview of the GCSE, and there will be opportunities to practise a range of the skills involved.  You will read and begin to analyse language in a range of short fiction and non-fiction extracts, and you will explore ways of writing for different audiences and purposes.  You will also explore the Spoken Language component of the GCSE course.

    Get an insight into GCSE Mathematics and practice the skills needed for the course and sample some topics to allow you to decide whether it is something you think you could be successful at.

    Students will get the chance to look at a range of topics, get an introduction to several different websites which support GCSE Mathematics, and try some sample exam questions.
